Donations

We are very thankful for your interest in helping SVY out! If you wish to help donate to SVY, the link is here: https://tinyurl.com/SVYdonate. For partnerships or large inquiries, please contact svyouth1@gmail.com and cc svyfinance@gmail.com. We will reply with further information regarding donations, sponsorships, and partnerships.


No. A contribution to a 501(c)(3) charitable organization may be deductible, but tuition payment is made in return for the education provided and is not a contribution. The essence of a contribution is a gift to the organization without any expectation of goods or services in return.

About SVY

SVY is dedicated to developing the intellectual, moral, civic, and creative capabilities of youth so they can serve and lead our society. SVY teaches classes to middle and elementary school students and donates the proceeds to underprivileged school districts.


Currently, SVY is working with underprivileged school districts including Ravenswood City school district and Franklin McKinley school district, and SVY is looking to expand its outreach to other organizations in the future.

Classes

All of the class material and lecture notes are included in the recap email for each lesson. Teachers will also reach out to you to schedule a short make-up session before or after the next classes.

At SVY we record classes to ensure quality. These recordings will not be accessible to the public, and will only be used for internal teacher training and review purposes by the SVY team only.


No. SVY does not allow any class recordings to be played for students or any other public party. If you wish to make up material that you might have not attended, contact your teacher and they will provide you with the information you might have missed, or meet with you outside of class.

Refunds

SVY has a 1 class refund policy. After taking the first class, if you are unable to or do not want to attend the second lesson, we will provide you with a full refund. In order to qualify for a class refund, you must fill out this Refund Application Form a minimum of 24 hours before the second class starts.


We will send a confirmation for your refund within 48 hours of your request. Due to the processing system that we use, most refunds take between 5-7 business days to complete.


Please send an email to svyfinance@gmail.com and cc svyouth1@gmail.com. Include the following: a parent name, a student name, the name of the class, and a copy of the receipt you received.

Joining SVY Staff

If you are interested in joining our team, we will be hosting teacher applications in between semesters. Teacher applications generally open in March and October, for the Fall and Spring semesters, respectively. If you would like to be added to our teaching staff mailing list, please email svyouth1@gmail.com and we will do so.


There are no strict requirements for becoming a teacher or teacher assistant, but it is very crucial that you demonstrate professionalism to teach a class, passion and deep understanding of the topic you are teaching, and responsibleness to uphold all teaching duties.


The application process starts with a written application, and then the SVY Executive Team selects qualified applicants for an interview, from which teachers and TAs are chosen from.

Teacher Reimbursements

The SVY policy for teacher reimbursements is $6 per student. This means if you have 7 students, you can be reimbursed for $42.


At the end of your class, please send an email to svyouth1@gmail.com and list your class name, who to paypal to, and receipts for your purchases.
