This class investigates the changing social, political, and economic atmosphere in the American history from the mid 1700s until today. In this class, you will read and analyze documents of historical importance in various periods of time and discuss their impact on the American people.

Alvin Tian

Alvin Tian is a 9th grader at Monta Vista High School, returning to Silicon Valley Youth as a teacher for US History. Alvins has had two sessions of previous experience co-teaching US History to middle schoolers. Thus, he has both passion and experience in inspiring younger kids. In his free time, Alvin enjoys reading, going for runs, and playing baseball with his friends. He is excited to be teaching your student in the upcoming session.


Sean Yang

Sean is a 14 year old freshman at Monta Vista High School. He has been a teaching assistant at SVY two times before. The first time he was assistant for World History, and the second time for US History. Aside from his passion for history, he enjoys playing baseball and water polo. He also has a Level-9 certification in piano and participates in the Monta Vista DECA business club. Sean is looking forward to a wonderful semester sharing his passion for US History with younger students.
